On short notice the American Indian community and their supporters came out in the rain today in San Francisco to protest this attack on Leonard Peltier. Family members of Leonard feel this cowardly assault was orchestrated by the FBI to prejudice his next parole hearing. Today’s demonstration began at the new federal building and then marched to the Phillp Burton Federal Building. Tony Gonzalez, Director of AIM West, led a delegation inside to house leader Nancy Pelosi’s office to demand a congressional hearing into the attack on Leonard and the policies of all federal prisons. “My brother Leonard was severely beaten upon his arrival at the Canaan Federal Penitentiary. When he went into population after his transfer, some inmates assaulted him.”

I was very disturbed when I read this news of Leonard’s treatment. I have followed his case for many years. This is not right!!
I live in Georgia and have met his granddaughter several times. Went to her birthday party at Rolling Thunder several years ago. My husband made her either a necklace or bracelet for her with a turtle on it.
Please let Leonard know that I have been praying for him and will continue to do so. He has indured so much that is just so unjust in this old world.
Please keep me informed of what is happening with his situation.
