You know that John Graham was convicted on December 10. What a horror that was. I sat through the entire trial and sadly his defense counsel John Murphy called no witnesses. At least 3 should have been called including John Himself. There was obviously a hung jury but they were ordered to go back in by Judge Delaney and within 15 minutes the holdouts must haver caved and they came back in with a conviction. i will be there at his sentencing and he will get life and life in prison in SD is life without parole. Although at the time of the crime they claimed, without evidence, that he committed there was parole in SD. Hope Murphy at least argues for that and does a dynamite appeal, though I have little faith in the SD Supremes. I wrote a column about this and am so sad about it.

Does anyone know when Leonard Peltier is going to be eligible for parole? I live hear in Pa and would like very much to show my support for his release. I believe it is a crime that so many hear in this part of the country do not know the whole story behind the man. I would like to help some way somehow.

I was very disturbed when I read this news of Leonard’s treatment. I have followed his case for many years. This is not right!!

I live in Georgia and have met his granddaughter several times. Went to her birthday party at Rolling Thunder several years ago. My husband made her either a necklace or bracelet for her with a turtle on it.

Please let Leonard know that I have been praying for him and will continue to do so. He has indured so much that is just so unjust in this old world.

Please keep me informed of what is happening with his situation.

I can totally understand how a Federally contracted coroner could mistake the bullet hole of a 38 caliber weapon for exposure. I mean come on, the two are so similar give the guy a break! Having grown up on the reservation and having our home invaded by federal agents several times in my youth I am fully aware of the one sidedness our law enforcement has when it comes to the Native American. I just watched American Justice on the Peltier story and it was all I could do to keep from shutting the TV off when I heard the lies rolling off the prosecuter & the FBI’s tongues. Don’t get me wrong there are some just offficers out there but in the days we are speaking of the majority was affilitated with the so called Goons. My heart goes out to the Peltier family. I know the feeling as I have a brother that did time with him in Levenworth, and he too is still in the system due to supressed evidenced & DNA testing by our honorable government. God bless you.
